Young Star Challenge



Young Star Challenge is a talent contest for kids who are ages from 5- 12. There is no limitation on performing style and format. It is a great platform for kids to challenge themselves, showoff their talents and meet new friends. This may also be a precious moment for them to perform for the first time ever on the stage in front of a large crowd.

The person or crew who puts on the most amazing performance for our judges will win the competition and receive PRIZES!

Any type of performers, solo or a group, between the ages of 5 to 12. A performance must not be longer than five minutes. Any performance not suitable for a family audience and/or contains profane language, swearing, or any suggestive lyrics or actions, will be disqualified. Acts using machetes, knives, fire, and/or pyrotechnics, cannot enter. Only limited audio/visual equipments are available. Contestants are responsible for providing all other equipments needed. Register today to perform and kick it!

Important dates

Registration Deadline: Monday June 29, 2015, 5pm
Audition: Saturday July 11 2015 9am- 5pm @ Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society Office
Finals: Saturday, August 8, 2015, 3pm @ TD Vancouver Chinatown Festival Main Stage


  • Read full contest Rules and Regulations.
  • Download and complete the Application Package.
  • Mail/Drop off the completed Application Form, Release and Waivers, along with CAD $20 registration fee to Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society (106 Keefer Street, Vancouver, BC, V6A 1X4 or fax: 604 632 3809).
  • Please make cheque payable to Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society. All registrations must reach Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society by Monday June 29th, 2015, 5pm.
  • Practice and get ready for the auditions!

  • There are three prizes to be won.
  • First place winner wins a prize consisting $300 gift card and a trophy (the “Prize”).
  • Second place winner wins a prize consisting $200 gift card and a trophy (the “Prize”).
  • Third place winner wins a prize consisting $100 gift card and a trophy (the “Prize”).
  • In the event the winner is a group, any cash and prizes won by the group will be split amongst all members of the winning group.
  • All awarded non-cash prizes may not be sold and are not redeemable for cash.
