TD Chinatown Festival Press Conference

The Vancouver Chinatown Business Improvement Area Society (VCBIA) announced the line-up of activities at this summer’s TD Vancouver Chinatown Festival, which will be held at the 100-block of Keefer Street and 500-block of Columbia Street in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown. The TD Vancouver Chinatown Festival is the largest summer multicultural event in B.C. which attracted approximately 57,000 attendees last year. Over 200 volunteers will help deliver a dynamic and exciting two-day festival August 13-14.

This year’s festival theme is “Hong Kong.” Some highlights of the event include traditional arts and crafts from around the world, walking tours that feature the food and history of Chinatown, an open-air market filled with exotic goods, multicultural stage performances, and games for kids of all ages. Stick around till the end because live band music, and other entertainment will be highlighted on Saturday night until 10p.m. at Streetfest. The Chinatown Mascot, Van Van will also celebrate his sixth birthday!

This year’s TD Youth Talent Showdown and Young Star Challenge Finalists are of a high caliber. There will be a variety of talent performed by our youth, including singing, band performances and various musicians. The finalists of the TD Youth Talent Showdown and Young Star Challenge will be competing at the TD Main Stage on August 13-14.
