Chinatown is home to over a dozen heritage designated buildings each representing a history of the beginnings of Chinatown over a century ago. These heritage buildings are the jewels of Chinatown representing the intangible character and distinguished architecture. The City of Vancouver created a Chinese Society Buildings Matching Grant Program and these buildings have almost all received a facelift. These buildings are very popular attractions and always a great discussion topic to create intrigue.
